  Overall

Good 3D backdrops try and help mask the inescapable flaws present in Neowave. Blocky sprites, no story, and limited gaming options prevent this from being anywhere near as good as previous SNK games. The vast character selection is standard like other KOF games, but the lack of any new or updated characters made this seem lame. Had KOF: Neowave been given a couple of more features, possibly two-on-two bouts, and some fancier on-line modes, it could have been a well-worthy title.

  Sweet to the Core
Character selection. The 40+ available characters provide a good selection.

Solid fighting mechanics. Fighting is fairly solid

Xbox Live mode. At least you can battle friends on Live

  Going Bad
Mediocre Endless mode. Survival mode is solid but boring.

Old Super moves. Good super moves with nothing new makes them boring.

3D Arenas. They looked good, but that's it

  Rotten to the Core
Terrible sprites. Haggly, old looking sprites make the game look stale.

Lacking music. Tunes that made KOF games famous are nowhere to be seen.

No Story?!. No plot, no story, no direction.

No new characters. A couple of new characters or updated characters would have been nice.

Old sound fx.. Lazy sounding effects from a decade ago.

Cheesy boss.. Geese was a lot tougher in his CvS garb.
