You have probably seen the World Series of Poker on ESPN or some other channel or have probably played with your friends, I know I have played many of hands whether been with friends (using spare change as chips) or online on one of the famous poker sites you hear about.

Gameplay
The gameplay is very much what you would expect with any poker game. There is Texas Hold’em, Omaha, Omaha High/Low, Seven Card Stud, and Razz Poker (Seven Card Stud Low) games to choose from. I like the controls, very simple. All controls are through the joystick (all-in, call, check, bet, raise, and fold) by pressing the direction of the option you want and pressing A. They have many modes you can play like a career mode, quick play, and multiplayer games using either a system link or Xbox live. In career mode, you are given $10,000 and 10 years to collect as much winnings as you can. You first start off career mode by customizing your player using many different clothes and hairstyles. One thing I do like about the game is that you get ‘collector chips’ that keep track of how many times you got things like Full Houses, Winning Streaks, Takedowns, etc.

Graphics
The graphics are alright… The character models look awesome; each character portrays the real-life player very well. One thing I dislike though is that your cards are really small, one suggestion I may have for Activision for the next poker game is to have your cards in the lower corner enlarged so that you may see them better.

Sound
The sounds sound great, for the first couple of times you play the game… then get very repetitive. You will get sick of hearing “I Call” very fast! Each player has their own taunts that they use but there is not that many for each player, so that gets repetitive as well.

Multiplayer
Anyone who has played one of the online poker games on your computer will realize that this is no different, just that it is on your Xbox and in 3D. I would imagine that system link would be fun, but I don’t see the point of having it. If you had a bunch of friends at your place with an Xbox LAN and were going to play this game, I think it would be more fun just to pull out a table and play the game with cards.

Overall
Overall, it is a good game that allows you to play against some of the big names in the World Series of Poker but could have been developed a little bit better and had more sayings for each player that they could use. If you would like to play poker with friends online or just to play poker when you are alone, this game would be a game to pick up.
