Arnold Schwarzenegger is back, just as he said he would, in Terminator 3: The Redemption. Developed by Paradigm Entertainment, this will be the third game in its series on the Xbox console and the second game based on Terminator 3. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic time where the you play as the Terminator fighting against not only ground based enemies but once in the air as well. The previous Terminator games have been a little dull when compared to others, as most games based on movies are. However we hope to see an large improvement in this game.

A major aspect that stands out in this game is the numerous vehicles used in the game. For a large amount of the game you are on foot in intensive combat but a fair part of the game you will also be allowed to control vehicles that travel much fast than just walking around. Some of the vehicles in the game include, motorcycles, pickup trucks, helicopters, high tech tanks, police vehicles, a hearse, and many others. A neat feature about these vehicles is at any time you can commandeer another one and begin driving, or flying, it. This is usually used if your current vehicle get badly damaged or just quits working. In this game the enemy robots have the ability to climb onto your vehicle. As if there wasn't already enough action going on now you have to kick robots off of your vehicle.

Not only are there a bunch of new vehicles but there are also a number of new abilities and attacks that you can perform. One of these new abilities is the ability to upgrade. Throughout each level you can earn a certain amount of terabytes that you can use to upgrade. You can upgrade to more powerful weapons, or even new attacks. You can earn these terabytes by how you play the game. If you complete a level faster you can receive some or if you find a secret in the game you will be awarded terabytes to use for upgrades.

The entire gameplay is always filled with action and the graphics contribute a lot to the overall gameplay. The graphics of the game have been greatly improved from the previous Terminator games and gives Terminator 3: The Redemption a unique feel. Everything in the environment is well detailed and the animations of the Terminator and his enemies are amazing. In this game you will even be able to do things like pull a stop sign out of the ground and begin whacking it over robots heads.

Another neat feature about Terminator 3: The Redemption is that there is now an auto aim feature built into the game. In most first person shooter games on any console it is difficult to aim up your shots because it is sometimes difficult to use a joystick for aiming. Because of this there is an auto aim feature in this game. All you need to do is move the cursor near an enemy and the game will do the rest of the aiming up. Then all you have left to do is fire away, and if it was a nice shot you might even get to hear Arnold say something like "Terminated".

While playing the game you will be able to use the auto aim feature with a large variety of different weapons. Throughout the game you will be using everything from shotguns to plasma rifles. Also a new thing in this game is that if you kill an enemy you will be able to pick up their weapon and begin using it. There are also a lot of different weapons attached to the vehicles used in the game so not only do you have to drive, but you also have to shoot down the enemies. Many of the vehicles even have a primary and secondary firing weapon.

One of the coolest features included in this game is called the termavision. You can simply activate this mode by just pressing the B button on the Xbox controller. Once it is activated the screen will turn read. At this point your attacks will do twice the amount of damage.

Overall Terminator 3: The Redemption looks like it is going to set a new name to the Terminator series. All previous Terminator games have been, well dull when compared to most other action games. However from what we have seen on this game it looks like this one will be different and well put together. The new vehicles used in the game will defiantly give the game an entirely new feel, as well as the new upgrades you can perform. The graphics of this game has also been dramatically increased from the previous games and the environment is more detailed and so are the character animations. Terminator 3: The Redemption is defiantly a game to be looking forward to and will be released on September 7, 2004.
