Forza Motorsports popped up at this years E3 and surprised everyone. Nobody knew that Microsoft was secretly developing a top of the line racing game that has the potential to top not only Project Gotham Racing 2 but possibly the long awaited Gran Turismo 4 on the Playstation 2.

Froza Motorsports is expected to have stunning graphics and gameplay kind of like Project Gotham, but it was also announced that you will be able to own and even customize your own cars, kind of like Need For Speed Underground. Players of this game will earn money each time they place in an event and will be able to use the money to buy new cars or use them to tune up their current car. Allow players to take a stock car and turn it into a high performing racing machine.

What is a racing game without cars? Huh? Well it is a good thing this game has cars from over 60 top manufacturers. The final number of cars is not yet finalized but you can bet it will be more than any previous racing title. Just a few of the car manufactures that will be seen in this game include Mazda, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz, Honda, Chevrolet, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, and Dodge.

Once you actually get your car on the road and the tires rolling you will find it to act just like a real car. Automotive engineers and experienced programmers have teamed up to create an advanced physics engine for the game. Each car will be unique and will drive its own way. The cars will even take damage and wear after racing for a good amount of time and parts will be needed to replace. Even the tires and suspensions are going to be programmed to react to elements such as heat, pressure, transfers of weight, and even the aerodynamics of the car body.

Forza Motorsports is expected to have revolutionary AI, or computer controlled opponents, in the game. You will even be able to have computers on your racing team and you can teach them certain techniques on how to race through the tracks and they can even end up winning events for you, after you have trained them well of course.

If you get tired of racing with robots you can always hop onto Xbox Live for some real action with other real humans. Xbox Live is by far the best multiplayer network. Whether you are just getting home from work and need someone to race against, or wake up in the middle of the night and start playing there will always be someone willing to take you on.

Microsoft is expected to have Forza Motorsports out in the stores this Holiday season. It definitely has the potential to compete with the top racing games out to date and possibly go head to head with Gran Turismo 4. Time will only tell, keep checking back to Xbox Core for new updates on this soon to be released game!
