IHRA Sportsman Edition is bringing in a new kind of experience for drag racing enthusiast. Complimenting on a new engine and featuring 22 different tracks across the twelve different events that span through an entire season. There are even all new rule sets so players will be challenged with teeth gritting races and a garage load of parts and vehicles to unlock and use.
One quarter mile of pure bliss
The main focus of IHRA–if the name hasn’t given it away already–is detailed challenges and aspirations, heading towards the title of being a championship drag racer of the IHRA. Utilizing drag racing techniques and car upgrades and part changes, are deciding factors as to whether or not you win, lose or do either in a large or small way. Hence, considering the lacking variety of available drag-racing titles on the market, IHRA Sportsman Edition is hoping to leave a positive dent with an affordable price and enough depth in the racing gameplay to standout in the small crowd of meager comparisons.
IHRA will be featuring the likes of the top ranked Dragster and Sportsman car classes. Keeping things entertaining on top of that with television broadcast style presentations. This was done to bring the action right to the player as if they were an actual spectator or watching on it TV.
A garage full of destiny
With a lot of in-depth customization being given to the racing fan of a meticulous nature, the IHRA Drag Racing car details, upgrades, part add-ons, and so on, are all being tailored to the free-and-easy racing fan as well. The garage from which the player will make or break their drag racing career, will feature detailed and spot-on recreations of the real life cars that can modified, tweaked and supped up with easy-to-use functions. You can even turn that garage into a custom paint shop, with the car-paint editor that allows you to change and modify the paint job on your monster car. There’s even extra features for you and your car that can be unlocked throughout the game: Ranging from extra parts and trophies, to special cars and even a full second season mode. Ensuring that the eleven standard, pro drag racing tracks and the eleven fantasy tracks are all put to good use.
With the Sportsman class being the key feature to this newest IHRA Drag Racing series, players will be able to utilize both classes of cars in several modes of play: Including an Arcade mode and a full-featured Simulation mode. In which players will try and make conquest on the IHRA Sportsman Championship by working their way up from the bottom; earning cash, buying, selling, and most importantly, racing their pants off to try and make it to the top of the field. With a scheduled release for October 18, 2005, drag racing fans won’t have to wait long for this next installment of the IHRA’s drag racing series to hit shelves.
